The Holy Spirit is sought after by many but still remains a mystery to some. We will cover many of the critical questions about Him starting with “Who Is the Spirit?” and “How do we receive Him?”
Who is the Spirit?
For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Spirit; and these three are one. 1 John 5:7
All spiritual gifts come through having the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit we are lost as to what YAHWEH would have us do in certain situations, we are then moved to act of our own mind which gets many of us in deeper troubles. The Holy Spirit is a male spirit, He is not an it He is a He.
YÄ•howshuwa Ha Mashiach (Jesus) promised us the Holy spirit and He does not lie.
But the Helper, the Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. John 14:26
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Matthew 28:19
“But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. John 15:26
While the word “Trinity” (meaning three) is not used in the Bible, it is clear from the above Scriptures that from the One God there are three manifestations: God the FATHER, God the SON, and God the SPIRIT; so the Holy Spirit is the third part of the One God Head.
How Do You Receive The Spirit?
By being born again.
Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. John 3:5
By obeying God.
And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.” Acts 5:32
By repentance.
Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Spirit. Acts 2:38
By the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me;5for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” Acts 1:4-5
For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. 13For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body–whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free–and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. 1 Cor. 12:12-13
The Holy Spirit Dwells In The Life And Body of All True Believers.
There is another significant fact in this verse as well. We “have all been made to drink into one Spirit”; that is, the Spirit has entered our bodies. He dwells within the hearts and lives of all believers. Believers are not only immersed “into the body of Christ” by the Holy Spirit…but the Holy Spirit is immersed or placed into the lives and bodies of believers.
“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you” (John 14:16-17).
“But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his” (Romans 8:9).
“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” (1 Cor. 3:16).
“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” (1 Cor. 6:19).
